Baptistisaarnaaja Tim LaHaye (s. 1926) on kirjoittanut yhdessä Jerry B. Jenkinsin (2. 1949) kanssa 16-osaisen kirjasarjan Left Behind. 1995 -2007 välisenä aikana kirjoitettujen romaanien perustana on Raamatun tekstejä viimeisistä tapahtumista, joita sovelletaan nykyaikaan ja kehitetään vauhdikkaasti. Kirjat on alunperin julkaissut Yhdysvalloissa Tyndale House ja ne ovat menestyneet varsin hyvin: Amazon.com listauksissa kärki kymmenen joukossa kaikkien myytyjen kirjojen tilastoissa vuonna 2005.
Kirjojen perusteella on tehty kolme seikkailuelokuvaa ja neljäs on suunnitelmissa
